The Powersound Recording Arts Program provides graduates with thorough training in audio engineering and production.

Program Details

• 3 month program beginning in September, January or June
• Maximum 6 students per class
• Part time evening classes are also avaliable

Program Outline

Our program covers every facet of audio production and engineering. From tracking and mic'ing techniuqes to mixing and mastering. We provide students the training, exposure and tools necessesary to suceed in todays muisc industry. Small class sizes ensure that every student gets the hands on expirience necessary to suceed in the real world as well as allows us to tailor the material covered to meet each students specific needs. Some of the topics covered:

• Computers and Software
• Mic'ing Techniques
• Equalization
• Compression and Limiting
• Digital and Analog Mixing
• Automtion
• Music Business
• Live Tracking
• Mastering

Entrance Requirments

• Resume
• No previous expirience is necessesary, however any related areas of talent with help.

Coming Soon

In the upcoming months we will be expanding the school and adding two new programs.

Firstly, in co-operation with Mothers Music we will be offering introductory recording seminars. These will be tailored to people who are interested in the recording arts and engineering but may not have much exposure to either discipline.

The second program we will be adding is a course in electronic music. It will be taught by one of Edmonton's hottest club dj's. Anyone who is interested in learning how to remix songs, create club, trance and dance music or do anything involved with electronic music is encouraged to apply.
